Iveco LMV

Thanks to its maneuverability, speed and passability, the Iveco LMV is most often used by the Armed Forces for reconnaissance tasks and front-line evacuation. It allows the military to move quickly over a variety of terrain, including off-road, and respond quickly to changes in the situation, and the presence of a remotely controlled machine gun the installation, which is located on the roof, allows, if necessary, to fire on the occupants.

The development of the car began in the late 1990s, and the first prototype was presented in 2001. The Rys armored car was created to replace outdated models of military equipment and provide the military with a modern, reliable and universal means of transportation. In 2003, Iveko military was adopted by the Italian army, and later by many other countries, including Great Britain, Spain, Belgium, Norway and others.

The Iveco armored vehicle has been actively used in military operations around the world, including Afghanistan, Iraq and Lebanon. Due to its reliability and protection, it has proven itself as an effective means of transportation and support for military units in various environments.

The armored body of the IVECO LMV provides protection against small arms, mines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The vehicle can also be equipped with various types of weapons, including machine guns, automatic grenade launchers and anti-tank guided missiles (APGMs). According to experts: it's the same BRDM, only the BRDM, unfortunately, even the modernized one, is not so maneuverable.

The Iveco armored car has a modular design that allows it to be easily adapted to different tasks and operating conditions. This includes the ability to install various weapons, protection and equipment modules. The Iveco military vehicle is equipped with modern communication, navigation and fire control systems, which makes its effectiveness in combat conditions high. And the V-shaped bottom provides increased protection against mines and improvised explosive devices.

Despite its high reliability and endurance, the Iveco armored car can experience certain breakdowns and malfunctions, especially in the conditions of active hostilities. Most often, problems arise with the engine, transmission, suspension and electronic systems.

Engine problems can occur due to overheating, wear of components (pistons, valves, gaskets), contamination of the fuel system, or malfunctions of the cooling system. Engine malfunctions can manifest as loss of power, increased fuel consumption, overheating, unusual noises or smoke .

The transmission may suffer from worn gears, bearings, synchronizers, damaged shafts, or oil leaks. This can lead to difficult shifting, noise, vibration, or complete failure of the transmission.

The suspension may experience wear of shock absorbers, springs, silent blocks, ball bearings or damage to the arms. This can lead to poor handling, reduced comfort, the appearance of knocks, squeaks or complete failure of the suspension.

Thanks to the modular design, many parts and components can be quickly replaced in the field, which allows to reduce the downtime of the equipment and increase its combat capability.
