Oncilla
Oncilla is a lightweight, multi-purpose armored personnel carrier with a 4×4 wheel configuration, created as a major upgrade of the Ukrainian Dozor-B, taking into account NATO standards. The vehicle combines a high level of mobility, reliable mine protection, and extensive combat module integration capabilities.

History of the creation and production of Oncilla
The Oncilla project was developed in collaboration between Ukrainian and Polish engineers. The first prototype was presented at the MSPO-2013 exhibition in Kielce (Poland). Production is organized at the Mista company in Poland and at the Ukrainian enterprise VK System (Vasylkiv).
The vehicle received a number of improvements compared to the Dozor-B:
Deutz or Iveco NEF 4 engine with up to 210 hp;
new transmission (5- or 6-speed Allison automatic transmission);
improved mine protection;
modern electronics and control devices.
In terms of modifications, the Onzilla demonstrates great versatility. There are command and staff versions for managing units on the battlefield, reconnaissance variants, including vehicles for radiation, chemical, and biological reconnaissance, medical evacuation armored personnel carriers for rapid delivery of the wounded, as well as patrol and police versions to ensure security in the territory. In addition, the Oncilla Mk2 modification with a 90 mm cannon for fire support has been created, as well as special vehicles designed for demining and safe operations in mine-hazardous areas.
Design features of the Oncilla armored vehicle
Wheel formula: 4×4
Crew: 3 people (commander, driver, gunner)
Troops: 6 people
Body: welded steel construction with a cylindrical mine-resistant bottom
Entry: through the rear doors and upper hatches
Seats: mine-resistant, with 4-point seat belts, absorb explosion energy
Armor protection complies with STANAG 4569 Level 2 (bullet resistance from 7.62×39 mm API and artillery shell fragments). When using add-on armor, protection can be upgraded to Level 3 (protection against 7.62×51 mm AP and 155 mm shell explosion at a distance of 60 m). Anti-mine protection – STANAG 4569 Level 2a/2b (6 kg TNT explosion under the wheel or bottom).
Additional systems of the Oncilla armored personnel carrier include a filter ventilation unit (FVU), which protects the crew from radioactive, chemical, and biological threats. The vehicle is also equipped with an automatic fire extinguishing system, a centralized remote-controlled tire inflation system, and air conditioning and heating to create comfortable conditions for the crew and troops regardless of climatic conditions.
In terms of armament, the Oncilla can be equipped with various combat modules. The basic version is a remotely controlled 12.7 mm NSVT machine gun. The combat module is equipped with a thermal imaging sight, a television channel with more than ten times magnification, and a “picture-in-picture” function that combines a wide view with a detailed enlarged image. The weapon is stabilized in two planes and controlled by a joystick with a safety lock that prevents accidental movements during maneuvering. In addition to the basic version, alternative configurations are available with a 7.62 mm machine gun, a 40 mm automatic grenade launcher, or even a 90 mm cannon in the Oncilla Mk2 modification.
The Oncilla's mobility is provided by two diesel engine options: the Deutz BF 4M 1013 FC with 190 hp or the Iveco NEF 4 ENTC with 209.5 hp. Combined with an Allison 1000 automatic transmission with 5+1 or 6+1 gears, the vehicle can reach a maximum speed of 105 to 120 km/h on the highway and cover up to 750 km without refueling. The armored personnel carrier can easily cross fords up to one meter deep, climbs up to 30° and slopes up to 24°, as well as trenches 0.7 meters wide, demonstrating high cross-country ability even in difficult off-road conditions.
