Roshel Senator

The story of Roshel Senator Roshel Senator begins in 2018, when the Canadian company Roshel Defense Solutions began the development of a new armored vehicle designed to provide security in high-risk environments. The vehicle was created on the basis of the Ford F-550 chassis, which provided it high throughput and reliability.
Rochelle Senator was presented to the public for the first time in 2019 at the international exhibition of weapons and military equipment AUSA. The car immediately attracted the attention of military experts and representatives of the power structures of various countries of the world.
After the start of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the Rochelle armored vehicle became one of the most massive armored vehicles among the Ukrainian military. The company quickly responded to the needs of the Ukrainian army and began supplying Ukraine with Senator MRAPs in large quantities.

The most common problems with Rochelle Senator
The armored car, built on the basis of the Ford F550 chassis, like most modern MRAPs, has a commercial origin. Practical use has revealed a number of shortcomings. In particular, a weak chassis (axles, gearboxes) that does not cope well off-road and has a tendency to overheating and sinking into the ground. The high center of mass, shifted to the rear, combined with the high windage, creates a risk of capsizing if handled carelessly.
But the problems are not limited to the chassis. The six-speed automatic transmission does not always cope with the significant loads typical of operation in combat conditions. The «thoughtfulness» of the box is noted, the wrong choice of revolutions and switching from first to second gear when stuck, which can lead to a stoppage of the engine. Towing the machine without disconnecting the gearbox is impossible, and disconnection requires complex manipulations, which complicates repairs in the field and requires evacuation to specialized workshops.
